on the first day of april...

.. nothing special happened :) Wel eigenlijk is dat niet waar, Matthieu arriveerde midden in de nacht in Helsinki voor een weekendje. Het was heel leuk om hem terug te zien na 2 maanden :)

Oh voor ik het vergeet:

For the English speaking people , who see this blog, maybe see their names or pictures, and wondering what bad things I'm writing about you :P There's an easy way to translate a blog, and it goes like this:

1. Go to google translate and change the language from Dutch to English, or whatever language you want
2. Copy paste the URL in place where you normally put some words (so in this case you get this )
3. Click on the "translated link", no matter if it is the same URL.

With special thanks to Paulina from Sweden to show this :)

OK it is google English of course (IJD is translated as IME, that doesn't make any sense. And kot is a typically Flemish word google doesn't know, it means a student house) but then you can have an idea of what is says.

So today I went to the museum of natural history in Finland. It is definatly the moste beautifull museum I have seen untill now in Helsinki (also visited the national museum at one of this free-entrance-hours, but was a bit dissapointed) Most of the museum consists of animals that are exposed "like real", in some kind of natural setting. They have a really good eye for detail, every time you pass a scenary you discover something new. There are also some spectacular skeletons and dinosaur skeletons. So amazing how big they are ! And how small the monkey skeletons are compared with those. Today I made some notes, because the information was way to much to remember everything. I wanted to look for a book with  the information of the animals, but as you can expect, only Finnish books available... Apparantly there is a museum like this in Brussels too, so one more thing to put on my list of "things to do when I'm back in Belgium".

So anyway, here are some pictures (made by Mick last week, or stolen from google) of some animals I've seen. There is also a nice virtual exposition of "the history of life" on the website of the museum. As usual more pictures can be found on Picasa (this photo's are made by Mick, who is a lot  more professional with photography then I am ;)
